Fresh from their convincing victory over Penrith last Saturday, Whitley travel to Whickham this weekend hoping for a more successful outcome than on their only previous visit to the Glebe Sports Ground when they suffered the agony of defeat after extra time in the FA Vase back in September.
Despite their lowly position just one place off the foot of the league table, Whickham have been showing improved form in recent games, scoring seven goals in their last three outings and suffering only narrow defeats against top three sides Dunston and West Auckland.
Whitley have Luke Taylor and Peter Glen-Ravenhill available again following suspension but with the team performing so well against Penrith, Andy Gowens could have some difficult decisions to make before naming his squad for this weekend’s encounter.
