“A sweet and sour feeling”

Manager Marc Nash echoed the thoughts of fans and players alike after the 2-0 victory at Seaham Red Star. “A sweet and sour feeling as two key injuries overshadowed a very good win and solid performance along with an impressive debut from Noah Summers in an excellent back four on the day. We started a lot better than Tuesday night and we definitely handled the tricky conditions better and got the ball down and played. Kyle Patton tested the keeper as we pressed and he got in again moments later in a similar position but was fouled. Tom Potter has had a few penalties lately but he’s full of confidence and you’d back him to put them away which he’s done twice in 30 minutes. The second pen came from a great piece of passing football that opened up Seaham. Overall we looked so solid and kept a good shape before we changed ends to have the wind at our backs. Tibo’s injury was unfortunate but we are adamant their lad went over the top of the ball, intentional or not it’s left him with a broken leg effectively. However, I thought the second half produced a bit of a flat performance from us as we effectively sat and saw the game out. We weathered a little bit of pressure when Tom Flynn went off as we were down to ten men but the lads protected Brooksy in goal with some hard graft.”
Regarding the injured duo, he added “We are waiting to find out the durations that Tom and Tibo will be out so fingers crossed there aren’t any complications and they can recover quickly, but we fight on.”
