Whitley have been drawn away to Ryhope CW in the Brooks Mileson Memorial League Cup 3rd Round. Ryhope reached this stage of the competition with a victory on penalties at Billingham Synthonia while Whitley beat neighbours North Shields 2-0 at Hillheads.
This is the third time the side have met in this competition, the previous two occasions both being at Hillheads when Whitley came out on top. In February 2013 a Paul Chow hat trick helped Whitley to a 4-1 win in the 3rd Round while three years ago, it was a closer game in the 2nd Round with Whitley emerging 2-1 winners, with Alex Kempster and Chris Reid getting the goals.
Ryhope CW are currently one point and one place above Whitley in the league table but have played three more games. The sides met at Hillheads back in August when Whitley ran out 3-1 winners.
The tie will take place at the Ryhope Recreation Ground on Tuesday 11th December, just three days after we visit the same venue in a league fixture.
